how do i give my pc a clean out (slow)

i think i need to do some sort of system clean up on my pc as its very slow and today for example it wont load pics off any page as in cliosport banner or pics of items on e bay, is there a quick run thing that can be done ?

Personally I use Tuneup Utilities 2008 http://www.tuneup-software.co.uk/products/tuneup-utilities/ Try ebay for resellers, can usually get it for a few quid. There are free alternatives but this bundles everything together and it's very easy to use.

It does everything from defragging the registry to fixing broken registry keys to easily allowing you to see what software is loading at startup so that you can disable or delete it and much more.

run a disc clean up
defrag
delete the cookies folder

delete history
delete temporary interenet files
run anti-virus scan
run adware scan
uninstall programs you'll never use

ps. deleting cookies might mean you'll lose passwords (eg. like CS if its on remember me) so make sure you know what they are first.
