how do you adjust the handbrake on a ph1 172

Do I have to remove heatshields etc or is it adjusted on the rear callipers?any guides on here?

Im pretty sure there is no adjuster behind the heatsheild as i looked at mine when last on the pit, but never did get around to figuring it out

Just take the 10mm's out of the heatshield and push it foward out the way...there is a shackle on the handbrake cables which will be visable, adjust the 13mm nut accordingly.

Thats what i thought, i would have it on the ramps but im not in till after next week.

on the phase 1?? that sounds like the phase 2's??

^some phs1's had the adjustment isnide the car under the handbrake cover, most are under the car above the heatsheild

mine has a cover which is bolted on over the handbrake whereas my last just pulled off

so maybe im lucky and the adjuster is underneath the cover
