How do you press this joint out?

Isnt the cap suppose to come off? It wont press any further unless I need to press the other cross first? Also my bench isnt that dirty the flash is like the sun.

You should be able to force the U joint this way if you support the other side

Pull the cap off circled in turquoise and you should be able to free it off too

Thanks, I pulled the cap off like you said, just took mole grips and force! This is a spare joint anyway for practice lol, now to order a new uj for the main column.
