How far to go with ph2 upgrades?

Ian

  Focus TDCi
Will be getting the car colour coded and paintwork touched up over the course of the next few weeks. Not sure whether to stick to the car's roots, or to update a little. It now has ph2 rear lights and Dynamique spoiler. So should I change to ph2 side strips?

Opinions please! :)

Also, how far should I take the colour coding..
Just the mirror casing, side strips, handles, spoiler, front and rear bumpers?
Or do the mirror plates and scuttle panel etc too?

I know it's a subtle change, but could the PS elite please do a few chops for me please!

I'd say go for something similar to Matteh's.
Get youself a PH2 rear and side strips and colour code up.
Also, get yourself some 16' 172 wheels. :)
Will look ace after that.

Yeah PH2 rear bumper. Try and get a PH2 rear bootlock too, not many PH1 owners on here tend to do that ;)!!
Get the dual optic front Xenons too, IIRC Couzens was selling some :)

i do have some and are still up forsale! get some ph2 side strips to man, if your clio is pre "X" reg, your going to need to do some mods, to get them to fit like i did, but if you have an "X" reg car the doors are the perfect and no modification is needed

Matta's is probably the best ph1 non RS imo. You can't go wrong copying his.

Or you could put 172 bumpers on all round and replica it, although this is frowned upon by most...

Almost had a ph2 rear already sprayed in Pearl Black from Adam/Bloor but bit of trouble at my end, so missed out. I have a set of 172 alloys but can't put them on, long (insurance-based) story.

Was thinking about doing the bootlock, I assumed because I'd not seen it done that it wasn't possible? Would buy the dual optics, but it's a fair wedge of my cash :dapprove:

It's a T-Reg so sounds like issues? What causes the problems? Would love the dual optics Couzens, seriously tempted lol.

I don't particularly want to go down the rep route, that's why I'm a bit unsure about going ph2 as well. Hopefully in a few years will be able to skip straight to the 172 instead!

Lights and spoiler OK Ian? Ph1 with the white 172 wheels looks good.

Yeah they're excellent, cheers Chris :) Almost messed up the wiring because the connectors had seized up on my wiring, but clipped them back on with pliers, so hoping they'll hold.

the holes in the door are diffrent for the clips on the side strips, if you take one off and the holes in the door are round, thell need modyfing, if there square you'll be fine, go onnne get the dual optics ;) changes the look loads!

heres a pic of the door modifying

Hmm right, think I do want to go ph2 so just hope that they're square, will check soon. Did you have to protect the metal once you'd cut through the paint like that?

Like I said I'd love the Dual Optics, but if they're still £100 + postage then they're already worth about 10% of my car's value lol. From my point of view:

£100 - Dual Optics
£300 - Colour coding
£200+ - Possibly a cambelt service
£050 - Ph2 side strips
£050 - Ph2 rear bumper
£020 - Fog lamp
£030 - Seat runner (cheque in post)
£160 - 172 alloys (bought)
£090 - Ph2 rear light clusters and Dynamique spoiler (bought)
£006 - Clear side repeaters (bought)
£020 - Silvatecs all round (bought)
£040 - Spark plugs, filters etc (bought)
£045 - Get alarm to shut up (bought)
= £1121

on a car I paid £1300 for! And that's before I get any springs, engine mods and ICE.

Still gonna think about it ;) Hopefully somebody else will buy them and stop the temptation!

Think I'm going to have to hold off colour coding until I've got a few more bits then. Do the 1.6 bullets always have 16v on them, or can you get just 1.6 on its own? Wouldn't want to be lying about the number of valves I have lol.

£90 including postage and I'll take a pair ;) ?!

ill see what i can do ;)

Alright, let me know fella :)

thanks :dapprove:

There are enough people on here that have done it. If it's done properly and to a high standard then there's no reason for it to be frowned upon, apart from maybe for putting 2.0ltr badges on if the engine conversion hasn't been done.

With regards to my earlier post, does anyone know if there are such things as bullets with only "1.6" on them, not "1.6 16v"?
