How good is the 360! & HD !

hi i also treated myself to a 360 the graphics are spot on but on a couple of games the system has frozen(it is basically a pc!) would benefit from hd though might have to treat myself again

yep, a HD set up would make a world of difference. sadly, it doesn't solve the freezing problem.

got a philips 32" in the sales. yet to try it out.

Ditto, I got the Philips TV as well, great picture. Saw the Toshiba TV in Comet and it was cheaper in there than the link you posted. Think it was £699.

What have you been using the 360 on before?

Freezing issue on 360 can, in some instances, be solved by fitting the cooler avalible on play.com for circa £15 iirc.

Please say you didnt base this on viewing it in Currys, Comet, John Lewis etc. With a signal fedand split through 10+ TV's. Rally poor artificial lighting and viewing from a weird angle

If so you missed out on a fantatic set tha IMO wipes the floor with the Philips

No I didnt mean the image quality I ment the look of the thingy. I was ugly. I know the WLT is a good model and have very good reviews, but I am very pleased with the philips, can't fault it. Easy to set up and the freeview is good. cant go wrong for £600.

has he set the output to 720p in the system settings? And is the HD cable set to HD on the switch?

IMO there is a clear difference between gaming in HD and SD

yeah mate, its on 1080 and have the switch over.. maybe its just my eyes lol

Can't notice much difference between 1080i and 720p on my Panny 37" Plasma.

The fact that you can't do an instant back to back comparison don't realy help.

Leave mine on 720p since it matches the Native Res of my Panel.

Only tried 2 games so far (PGR3 and TW2007). Not going back to SD gaming now!

Think i'll pop round and have a look at my neighbours PS2/CRT tomorrow to see how that looks in comparison lol.
