  182 Trophy #274
depends on the car - generally I keep 'em for 3 years but if I dont like them I'll move them on every 12 months. If I really like 'em I'll never get rid of 'em

I've been doing 12 months recently but I reckon the Trophy is going to stay a little longer.

  BMW M135i
Kept my 1.2 for 10 months or so before I felt the need for more speed, wanted a 172 but insurance had other ideas.
Would imagine this one'll last until next may or so when i've got (hopefully) another years ncb and then its 172/182 time. Though I may just crack and buy one early and pay the extra for the insurance, thats what happened this time.

  Clio 182
I buy new and keep them 3-4 years but I get sort of itchy feet around 2 years and start thinking of others...

6 months has been the longest for the last 8 cars I've owned.

Could the V6 soon hold the record? :race: :clown:

I wanna see adtmits reply! ;)

Usualy about a hear and a half, but I'll think I'll keep this one for 3 years, maybe longer depending on what else is out at the time that I like and can afford

  Fiesta Zetec S TDCi
I had my last car 5 years, loved it loads, only got rid cos the mileage was getting high and it was beginning to rattle.

Had the clio since December and I currently swing from keeping it for 3 or so years, to I want to sell it tomorrow.

Unfortunately my finances dictate when i change my cars. Had to sell the 172 only a year after buying it new :( to help fund the start of my own business.

Want a 172 again (for the weekends) as find my automatic BMW a very uninvolving drive. Going to find a good one to buy this weekend as the mrs wants a new car. ;)

I've had 3 cars in 5 years, but I have to keep the MK3 until 2009 otherwise I can't claim the trade in value :(

  Turbo'd MX-5 MK4
1st car was around a year, second car two years, this car 3 and half years so far but seriously thinking of changing now.

  182 - conneries de c
Had my 182 since last August, so nearly a year now. Normally keep them for about 3 years then change.

However, started looking at the Evo's recently and finding reasons to get one, bigger, faster, faster, errrr faster and the family getting older so of course need a bigger car!!!

The only thing that is putting me off,is the stories of terrible MPG on the EVO (do a fair amount of travelling each day to work)and the amount of fun I have in the 182.

Might try and persuade the other half to chop in hers for a EVO and then take that and let her use the clio??!! You never know!

I normally keep a car for about 3 years. Im not too sure if i would by another renault clio again. Im thinking more like an audi or something. Something with a turbo

  Red Clio 197 F1
Usually keep my cars over 2 years, but if it is a hound then it goes a lot earlier.

My Ph+quick has been with me 2 years and 3 months and it is soon in need of a change

had my first clio for a year, 2nd car (fiesta) for a year, owned the 182 for nearly 4 months, ill keep it for 2 years probs

I always used to love the older cars, so they already had rattles and squeaks, but never seem to put me off, although the longest I kept one for was 2 1/2 years I think (The Capri). The last 2 cars have been Clios. 1st one I had for exactly 3 years and two weeks before it got written off ( not my fault). My present Clio was new in june 2003, I was considering selling her and getting the new Clio, but decided I didn't like it that much compared to mine, so have decided to keep mine and spruce her up a little.;)

First car about 3.5 years (I think), current car I've had for about 15 months now. I'm planning on keeping it for another year at least, by which time the timing belt will need doing. At that point I'll look at finances and what else is available and decide whether to spend the money having the belt changed, or buy a new car!

my last 5 car were kept for one and half to two yrs , i had my cup alot longer , nearly 3 yrs soon :eek:loosing about 12k in 7 yrs .......could av bought a car outright really

  Scirocco GT 210
Had my first car (a fiesta) for 18 months and I've had my second and current car (clio) for 20 months now.

Due to my financial situation, the clio will be staying for a long while yet, so I hope it doesn't break!

First car was in 2000 had it about a year and a half. (Clio 1.2 Oasis)

Second car was late 2001 and had that about 2 years. (Clio Grande 1.2)

Third car was in Nov 2003 which I had for 2 years and sold in Nov 2005 (Clio 172)

And I've now had my Megane 225 since January, intend on keeping this one for about 3 years as the mileage I'm doing is keeping the car like new and what with a re-map planned in a bout a years time, I should be able to tweak it to keep it interesting to drive!! :D
