... To reach its minimum Temperature?

I ask this as Ive been watchin mine carefully over the last two weeks - what temp should the needle be pointing to before you can start having fun?

Mine never shifts off 40 unless its really heavily driven for a good half hour at least, then it gets to just under 100 and never moves.

Once the coolent temp gets up to normal, the oil temp will start to rise. Mine normally reaches about 60-70 within 10 minutes.

You can gradually rev it a bit more as the oil gets warmer, but most dont boot it until at least 70, normally about 80.

The thing is it never reaches that! it never budges off 50-60 unless you really start attcking the throttle - I tested it on a 45 mile motorway trip and it never got anywhere near 80.

have you got low temp switch or thermostat? if so id go back to standard items as your running to cool. you want your oil upto temp quicker than that as cool oil is when you get your engine wear.

if not, it could be a dodgy gauge??

these have nothing to do with the oil

u may find a better grade oil will get hotter faster or yes u may have a faulty oil temp sensor but bear in mind it colder out sidre at the momnet so it takes longer to warm up ?



the best running conditions for a car is a high oil temp and a cool water temp !!!

The sensors fine it may well just be the cold weather methinks
