How Long Will A Battery Hold Its Charge

Yes.

(But even if it doesnt, just put it on charge for a day when you get back, if it doesnt start!)

Yeah, it should hold its charge quite well.

Only thing i would do is (obviously) check to make sure everything is off i.e the inside lights.

Then, when you get back, leave it running for a few mins, to warm up.

Should be fine.

Quick note. Generally a car battery can last anywhere between 12 months and 5 years, in a well used and well maintained atmosphere.

Oh thats good news!!..cheers guys...the alarm has been playing up a bit recently...if I just lock the door with the key will it stop the alarm from activating do you think?...maybe just kick in the immobiliser?

You should really disconnect the battery completly if you car will be sitting still for 6 months.

Also it might be worth putting it on axle stands to stop the tyres getting flat spots.

*edit* nevermind about that, mis-read, thought you were going for 6 months in a months time..lol

Lol,

Well I dont have to worry about that as my car automatically starts when the battery is low :p nananana hehe

sorry lol, yeah a month will be fine!

Just the standard Renault alarm that you get with a UK 172.

I have disabled the ultra sonic interior jobbie but still get it going off with the 3 flashes....suggesting that there is a fault...but have no time to get it in to the dealership to be resolved before leaving for Thailand for a month (queue Alan Partridge Ladyboy jokes)...so am looking to see if I can lock the doors without the alarm being all set to wake the neighbours!

Well in that case what device have you fitted to start the engine on low battery power ? though it might have been a clifford system.

it should be a 45 amp hour battery, meaning it will supply 1 amp for 45 hours, you can get a multi meter and connect it in series with the live and check what the current drain is when car is not runnin etc. say for example it is pulling 100mA or 0.1 divide 45 by 0.1 then you answer by 24, then you approx standing time. All alarms/radios etc use power.

Lol kdf... U got a lil confused there! it was me who said about the car auto starting when battery low not canfordcliffs hehe.

But in reply to ur question yeah I have a clifford with remote start! it also automatically starts when the interior drops below a certain degree to to stop the leather from cracking! (assuming u have it, which i dont so i switched that off!)
