I had my dynamique for 2 years, and it failed to start once in all that time!
Unsure what the fault was, left it for an hour and then it started again like normal!

(Lupo failed me when I went to pick it up, immobilizer in the key went!)

My 1.2 which I had for 18 months went back for the toxic sensor cover to be removed and a wheel bearing to be replaced.

My 1.6 in the first month of ownership had 2 occasions of coilpack failure which resulted in the RAC being called out. I now carry two spare with me at all times just in case... Touch wood nothing else goes wrong.

Lets see...

Battery fail
Starter motor fail
Exhaust fail
Cat fail
HT fail

over 3 years.

  Integra Type-R DC2
I had mine less than a week and it needed £200 odd worth of parts. Pretty much set the tone for the last 2 years.

well i bought the car and the cambelt snapped so under warrnty renualt put one of there engines in but that turned out to have a failure with the block i bought mike@rentechs engine that had throttle bodies on and that lost loads of oil because it had 40thou of play on the oil rings so i just had it rebuilt and now my main rear oil seal is leaking lol so none of my fault as of yet

  Fiesta ST
Had mine for 4 years almost - no major problems - standard exhaust is about to be change to a Milltek and the battery drains after a few days - thats it

  07 UR 197
In 16 months of ownership mine has only let me down twice so I consider myself very lucky!!

On the way home after buying it, the back box came off on the M6 near Lancaster (I knew from reading on here before buying that back boxes were a weak point), and once about 6 months after buying it, the key messed up and I had to buy a new one from the stealers at over £100 :dapprove:

My 172 was the biggest pile of s**te ever, always and i mean always breaking down. Had zero confidence in it.
Must have spent 3 grand on
new key fob
exhaust
batterys
suspension
handbrake cable about 4 times
Lots of other s**t
Major electric fault which meant it had to be stripped and checked wire by wire as the computer couldnt pick the fault up.
they had it for nearly 3 weeks (flogged 2 days after that for a 182:S )

Got to Love clios still, cant stay away from the fookers, on my 3rd.

once when the car was a year old at 4,000 miles the coolant temp sensor fuked up when i was in cardiff, was reading cod when it was hot, b*****d thing kept stalling not starting and spluttering all 80miles home.

gearbox and battery have failed on me; currently replacing some worn bits, too - but wouldn't judge those as 'failures'. reckon i've spent about £1700 on this lot in the last year.

what's happened to yours though? four engines and £9k - that sucks:dead:

had it nearly 18 months now, and i've had to get a new ecu and wiring loom (£800 fitted) and my abs sensor and target has just gone on my o/s front wheel. the target is part of the driveshaft though so i need a whole new driveshaft....£320 fitted! gonna get the parts for £150 and get a mate of my dad to do it though.

my 02 plate 172 was a bit ropey, even though it was fairly new at the time, the ECU played up a bit, and it rattled wayyy too much. It went into safe mode once for no reason as well (according to the mechanics).

My 04 plate 182 was fine, i had it for 2 years and no real major problems, other than the air bag cable geting chewed up in the steering wheel, but it never broke down.

My 197 touch wood has been fine.

Owned mine since March 2007 and in 11000 miles its needed:

Heater resistor
N/S Ball joint
N/S Driveshaft
Aircon Regassed

Other running costs have been:

Full service + belts
Two tyres (need some more now ;) )
Brake pads

So it all adds up.

  Monaco Blue Mk2
Had it for 3 years. Battery has let me down a couple of times. And the cambelt fell off, but that wasn't the car's fault, it was the incompetent garage that replaced it.

  ford focus
had my clio for a year only time its let me down was a couple of week ago when it wouldnt start anyway it was something to do with the electrics so had to get it all tested and a new something or other to do with the immobiliser and keys and it came to 225 so not done to bad really

  Works...kind of...
Never.

It just generally doesn't run that great. But still starts every morning on the button like it always has.

  A shiny black one.
Faulty temp sensor and pre cat lambda sensor + crying headlight washers!

Been pretty lucky me thinks!
