How much diff will cams actually make?

As above really! Been looking in to getting some awt cams and just wondered what the diff would be like bearing in mind my few other mods?

My spec so far is:-

Straight through exhaust and decat
HP chip
Modded airbox with itg filter
supersprint manifold and a few other bits and pieces....

Think its anywhere from 12 - 20 bhp depending on timing, headwork and ECU mapping to suit.

just so you know, the gains on 1.8's are more than proportionally less than on a 2ltr due to the statistics of the engine's

Every engine will vary. You may get in the region of 10brake...

make sure you get it mapped properly or it will idle rough as a hedgehogs arse.

Cams will make a hell of a difference - get some fitted and stop farting about

on the 2ltr F7 they make a huge difference, and if you use the correct profile you wont loost any low down torque, you'll gain it.

Will my car need remapping or wi it just DO of the standard chip for now? Any idea on gains Ben?

yup, the quote stands, its the same work.

It'll be best on a remap, but it'll run quite well on the std ecu.

For gains, i put a large post on williams clio in the tech forum, under 'anyone running awt cams'.

I'd say yes mate

gains arent as large as the F7R, and in std trim its restricted by alot, and even then you cant run anything remotely wild on the std ecu due to it basically walking away in a huff if you run any sort of overlap value on the idle strategy...i.e it wont idle at all.

I do not physically make them no, that takes some serious serious investment into CNC grinding machinery lol.

They are ground to my designs though.
