How much is a 172 convertion?

i was thinking i would like to put a 172/182 engine in my ph2 mk2 1.4. I know it's not worth it.... but i was just curious who does it and how much, I know k-tec do one for £3000 that just seems a bit pricey does anywhere else do one cheaper?

£3k is a drive in drive out jobbie I belive.

Any garage could do one GDI have done one. Most are done DIY for cost though.

£500 to ~£1.5k your llooking at spending on labour depends where you go and if they want a project to prove themselves.

yeah proberly better to get a 172 too but i just would like to keep all the stuff ive done to my 1.4 saying that i havn't done that much, I'll have to get saving cheers for the replys.

id look at insurance costs as i couldnt even get a quote on a hybrid
