'03 182 replica -for sale
I have owned the car less then a month, and having spent over £1500 getting it running perfect and adding some finishing touches, I can't really afford to keep it, and car parking isn’t easy in the city centre of Bristol and essentially, I just don’t need it as I get a free bus pass with my student accommodation rent.
It started out in life as a 2003 1.2L Dynamique Billabong. The car has undergone a complete re-haul 3 months ago!
The guy that done most of the work owned a garage and this was his project, he sold the car soon after completing it as his wife fell pregnant and had to buy more of a 'family' car.
The donor car was a 54 plate 182, having only done 34k which I can provide the reg plate for.
Renault love it, they think it’s really interesting the amount of work that’s gone into it, they say everything has been changed under the bonnet from a 182 apart from the battery tray! This includes the engine, gearbox, driveshafts, ECU, subframe and exhaust manifold.
Also, all the brakes and suspension, this means the entire rear axel has been changed so it has rear discs now.
When I got it, it had on it a brand new UCH which the guy bought and had to have coded from Renault, which I can provide a receipt for as its still under warranty.
The car went into Renault as soon as I bought it for them to check it over for my own peace of mind, the specialist sport guy was there and told me the car was fine and everything was working great apart from the exhaust, because it had a decat on it when I bought it, it was apparently messing with the running of the engine, it was running under power and the lamba sensors were missing so it had the engine diog light on, so I went to Longlife and had a custom exhaust built and fitted to the car, it now has a sport cat on it, this whole system cost £600.
The car had brand new Pirelli Nero Zeros on the back when I got it and I’ve just put on Toyo Proxes T1-R's on the front
I also bought a new stereo for the car, a Panasonic CQ-C7303N, plays all discs including mp3, has a remote, input for ipod, motorised front panel ect. Check here for full spec: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/5186/referer/rc_froogle.html (doesn’t come with Bluetooth)
I then had someone out from a tuning company to remap it, the guy messed it up so it went to Renault and they put a new tdc sensor and loom on it but then worked out it was the ecu, but the tdc sensor is a really common fault on this car so you can be assured that will never go wrong on you now and the new part is obviously under warranty.
The car has on it a brand new ECU as well then, eventually remapped, the new map gives an extra 24bhp and improves drivability, gets rid of little problems like flat spots and you even get better mpg because of all the extra torque. The car really does drive great.
With the remap, 4-5bhp from exhaust and 1-2bhp air filter the car is running easily over 200bhp. The speed is unbelievable and the remap has certainly made a difference!!
It will outrun most things on the road but also excels around corners, the 182 is renound for being the best handling hot-hatch, and as the 1.2 has the same chassis as the 2.0 and the brakes and suspension have all been converted, it drives the same as a real 182. (FASTER because of the remap and exhaust!)
The car has been lowered 40mm front and back, with callipers painted yellow, the same colour as the springs.
It is sat on 17" Fox Racing alloys which are in good condition and come fitted with locking wheel nuts.
The interior is the grey and green billabong interior, it has sports seats which have no rips or tears or fag burns in, the interior is in great condition. The steering wheel has been changed for the 182 sports wheel, the gear knob is now a metal sporty one and Sparco racing pedals are fitted. Also, there are green interior neon’s in the footwells.
It has professionally fitted, all legal, tinted privacy glass windows.
As well as the brand new headunit, it has had all the speakers professionally changed improving sound from the boring standard ones, 6x9 speakers on the parcel shelf and amp and sub in the boot, the sub is 2 x 10” subs in a bass tube, the speakers, sub and amp are all JBL.
Also in the boot is a rear Sparco strut brace fitted.
As you can see a massive amount of money has been spent on this car and a lot of love and attention to detail has gone into modifying it.
I have run the car through a MOT today even though it wasn’t out til June just to prove its safe and all ok, also, 9 months tax remaining.
The car is unbelievably fast, it is just crazy!! Deserves a lot of respect but is so forgiving in that is will get you out of trouble with the amazing handling, I had a 1.8 Corsa C SRi before this and cant even start to compare.
Really does stick to the road like sh*t to a blanket! Hehe
The car looks much better in real life, needs to be seen, it’s gorgeous. I’m going to be so sorry to see it go!!
The bonnet has a scratch and small dents in it, it looks like it’s been keyed and had someone jump on it? You can see what I mean in the pics.
I’ve tried to be as honest as I can with the description but if you unsure about anything please ask or come and view it.
Just to summarise, I’ve had the car just less then a month, paid to have the car inspected by Renault (£80) Exhaust (£600) Remap (£225) TDC and loom (£185) Tyres (£150) Headunit (£200) MOT (£45) Flat blade wipers (£30) and it has a brand new ECU.
Any questions at all please ask away.
Engine can be heard running if you want. Runs perfectly fine and you can hear the sound of the exhaust too.
First to see the car will buy it. The only thing the buyer will need to do is send off the logbook to the DVLA to change the engine size.
1 previous owner, 34k miles, 12 months mot, 9 months tax, 1 blooming fast car!
How much do you rekon?
Cheers
