How to actually change the abs rings

  172
I was wondering how do you actually change the abs rings?

Does the caliper have to come off? The disc have to come off? Does the driveshaft need to be taken off or anything?

Any help would be great thanks :star:

  Lionel Richie
hub nut off
lower balljoint off (undo the 2 bolts, easier)
pull hub off/away from driveshaft so driveshaft is free from hub
rip off old ring
grease up driveshaft face where ABS ring sits
gently tap on new ring and check its square

done

Cheers, do I need a ball joint splitter?

I also thought that one of the front abs rings are damaged because i'm getting "pedal farts" at low speeds. but looked at the ring a few days ago and it looks good. abs sensor then? any ideas?

My grandad has just aken his car (ph1 1.6 auto) into a garage. I usually take him to birchdown but I was on holiday and he was impatient.

ANYWAY. The guy says one of the abs rings has gone therefore it needs a new driveshaft. I said 'I don't think its actually attached to the drive shaft on mine' to which he replied 'different cars mate'. (he doesn't know I have a clio..).

Is he trying to rip him off?..
