How to line up new renault badge

Right previous owner of my 172 thought it would be nice to de-badge the boot lid, so have now sourced all the badges, Installed the clio one no prob as that had the 2 holes to slot into, but the the RENAULT & the SPORT badge will need to be done by eye as i'm sure your aware, now i was thinking of putting some m3 tape down & take a step back & see if it looks straight then go ahead & mount the badge above but just wondered if there is some form of template or default measurement i can use aswell?

Bloody hard....Mines about 1 or 2mm off...As the carboard surround wasn't true.

Get a small spirit level with a rubber wrap, make the bubble as level as possible and drop the badge of just above or well below.

Or like a mate did, he used a laser guide line like he has to tiles, perfectly straight an level from both sides.

Always thought the "Renault" badge sat in line with the middle of the numberplate recess?

Did think of using the level... but erm.. would look kak if i was parked on a road with a steep camber lol.. guess its gonna be by eye then :dapprove:

i put masking tape from the clio across to get the basic place of where it should be then just did the level bit by eye, came out near on perfect which was lucky lol.

What process they are to get too lol, Ivan, is there any one on the meet running a silenced de-cat? would really like to see what there like in the flesh, gf says shes getting me a carbon fibre engine cover this week too lucky lucky me!
