Just fitted a alpine 9885r and i love it however when i fitted it i have to push it in very hard due to all the wires, now i wanna remove it to see if i can sort the wires out better i'm not sure how to get the unit out???? do i need a special tool as it clicked in when i put it in????

How to remove a Alpine HU???????

in the instructions it will tell you.
Take the little silver surround off (it just prizes off with a little force)
Then on either side of the head unit there are two little clips, one on each side. Pop these up with a little flathead screwdriver and then the head unit will just slide out.
This only removes the unit however, not the cage
