How to stop a std exhaust deteriorating

Ive got the newly refurbished wheels on my Willy now and Im almost ready to unveil her to the waiting public!

The one thing I want to do is get a standard back box on the car as its got a tacky Prima Racing gold coloured one at the moment. Its meant to be "stainless", but the gold has worn to a lovely shade of brown. I want to get a standard one as it would be a shame to spoil it with a stainless one when the rest of the car is so original.

The "but" is that standard exhausts wear really quickly - can I do anything to stop this? I will be using a de-cat pipe (my only and invisible modification).

Cheers :D

The only thing you see on the Williams standard exhaust is a bit of stainless steel tailpipe. Why not have a stainless backbox as itll be hidden anyway, like the decat pipe? You can get the tailpipe on a custom exhaust to look exactly the same as a Willy tailpipe. Its nothing special!
