Yes, it`s a Shaftec, not J&R.
The reason it got fitted was that the boot of a recently replaced OE shaft from Ktec snared on pointy bit on the back of the block.
That (the pointy bit) will be coming off before I venture out on track again, even though I have uprated the engine mounts since.

Still no joy with my sat nav. Waiting on a mate who specialises in car electrics to have a go.

Now sorted the oil issue, seemed it had the wrong oil in it. Now running expensive 5w40 and genuine filter and it's been level and golden clean for last 700 miles.

My mechanic did a compression test and it's lovely and even.

On the lookout for a Cup spoiler and ph1 airbox now.

Whiteline rear arm is going on in the next few days after I sanded and repainted it.

I'm Really enjoying This now. I've had a few spirited drives in it recently and am still averaging 39 mpg over last 2200miles.

My sat nav display still isn't working, I don't know what it could be.

I have been offered my old ph1 back in a couple of months so I'm just going to address sat nav and maybe have belts done so I have no drama selling this on.

Cup spoiler and Whiteline rear arb are going on.. For now.

I was going to have it Mapped by Engine Dynamics but it goes really quite well already and I just stumbled across @bloke post about grp n timing and and map.that has me pretty excited so will be looking at that for the ph1.

But until then, I plan to smarten this, car number 33, up nicely and enjoy it!

Looks like a good example too, have you investigated it for rust?

Can't find any rust on it! It's surprisingly clean underneath actually.

Oh man, totally forgot on the gasket! Will try new cdrom reader first off a mates 182 and see it that bring the display back to life.

I was getting a slight knocking on acceleration so replaced both balljoints, has cured the issue.

My ph2 gearstick had a really annoying rattle inside the actual knob which was driving me crazy so I sourced a ph1 shifter to replace it with. Mmm so much nicer and feels way better and more premium.

Been doing a lot of long runs recently and it's returning 40+ mpg, I just wish it had Cruise control!
