HT53 RPU (172 Cup)

  Golf GT TDI
looks very clean mate. not been damaged either as its still got its splitter and black sticky bits on the bumper in the slit above the number plate. these usually get sprayed over. and its a late 53:cool:

i would make an offer on the price though maybe £4200

Were all the HT* registered ones the Renault press cars?

I'd check for signs of excessive ragging.

I'm joking of course.

Really need to sort that ad out there are so many things wrong on it :< cup with a LSD...leather interior.....

in the ad for the 182 they spelt Xenon wrong aswell.

Went to look at the car today, wished I really hadn't, waste of time and petrol. When I managed to find the place down a dirt track in the middle of nowhere I went to look at the car. 1st thing I noticed was every alloy was curbed to death and appeared to have bubbling on them, all the discs needed changing as they were in bad condition, steering wheel had a piece missing out of it. I was just about to leave and the guy came over, 1st thing he did was start the engine and redlined it straight away without letting it warm up from which I realized the exhaust was blowing. The guy was an idiot, he compared the car to a 25 year old blond virgin, no idea what he was dribbling on about as I wasn't really listening to what he was saying. He then got a phone call from a customer who was complaining about a car he'd bought from this place yesterday. Then to top it all off he said "Would you be looking to part-ex your car? to which I replied "yeah that's the plan" he then said "well I couldn't take it as it needs to much work doing to it" Cheeky b*****d. Lol!

Anyone considering looking at this car, DON'T!!!!

Oh and he reckons they retailed at 18k new aswell. Only had a quick glance at the black 182 that was there, it was filthy and the paintwork was dull. Think those cars will be stood there for a while.

All the Cup press cars were probably 02 or 52 reg one's - at least the vast majority would be.

As for the problems you are describing, pads and disks are easy peasy, and the wheels could be refurbed for a couple of hundred. I wouldn't let it put me off a car, but would just use it as a bargaining point. Don't forget the car is 5 years old, they aren't new anymore.

Yeah I understand that it wouldn't be perfect, but with him bouncing it off the limiter just after he'd started the engine? Just makes you wonder what else they do with the car, it's probably used as a personal rally car for the people who work there.

Maybe, but then i'd reckon 90% of Cups have been hammered. If it had a good service book then I wouldn't rule it out, though there are some bargains on here at the mo!

I asked to see the service book because I wanted to check if it'd had it's cam belt changed but he avoided the question and started prattling on about something else, I wasn't overly bothered as I had no intention of buying it after his revving antics.

I'd rather buy one from here to be honest, with it being an enthusiast forum the odds are good it's been well looked after.
