Hub Centric Spacers

Gonna be looking at getting some wheel spacers and there seems to be two types; the sh*tty flat ones from halford and hub centric ones - am i right in thinking these have the lip at the center to take the weight of the wheel??

wanting 17mm either side on my valver - would there be any problems with this?

Never heard of hub centric ones, cos surely that would have to be tailored to your exact hub size and even wheels with the exact same PCD and offset will have a different size actual mounting face even if its just a couple of mm?

Anyway the rule is dont buy cheap spacers. Always buy German when it comes to spacers cos theyve gone through TuV testing and wont unbalance your hubs too much. H&R and Eibach make quality spacers designed specifically for each application, ie theyre not the universal ones with like 13 holes in them to fit every car in the world.

17mm each side is a serious job. What you doing, a wide arch kit? It might mess up your handling a bit, and wear your suspension a lot quicker. I think Eibach or H&R both do 10 or 15mm spacers though. Ive got 5mm each side to clear my brake calipers and they run fine.

Well i find my alloys are too reccessed into my arches for my liking (although the are the correct offset) and was wanting them to stick out a little further. The williams has a 32mm wider track so i was wanting to simulate the look it has. From what people have said, 17mm either side might be a bit excessive so may just stick to 10s....fronts only...

hmm.. If you want the wider track, get yourself a set of Ren 19 wishbones and driveshafts (same part as willy) and whack them on - job done.. I would still steer very clear of spacers..
