humming / Buzzing from Interior Light?? MK2 PH2 172

Hi guys i picked up my new 172 yesterday and after a while when stoped in traffic i noticed a buzzing noise cumming from where the interior light is. i see the light is in the middle and a vent in front of it and behind it. anyone wlse had this problem or know what it is as its doing my head in now i know its there!!

if i remember right it might be a fan of some description

IIRC It's to do with the climate control, there is a few threads on here about it.

Some people have replaced it only for it do do the same soon after though

oh buggar! i thought it might be to do with the climate so i turned it off but could still here it. might take it apart and have a look.

iirc its a fan bearing but i might be wrong, i'm sure i read somewhere that it was this, search the forum

Its the interior temp/humidity sensor for the climate control.

mine does it, loads do it.

just turn the radio up!

Good advice, thats what i'd do or the rattling would drive me mad

or just floor it everywhere so the exhaust drowns the buzzing and the radio!!

Does anyone have a 172 or 182 without any rattles or buzzing sounds coming from somwhere in the interior?

Seems ok in mine i've never noticed it buzzing at all.

The most annoying noise that i have, is the clicking that happens when the window wipers are being used.
But i've been told that it's something to do with the relay.

I had mine for just a day and found it buzzing! i searched the word buzzing at the forums are full of messages on it!!

mine however...still buzzes! carefully oiled the fan, lasted 2 weeks.

FLETCH: yea i posted as to why the wipers TICK when they go on/off i mean come on....even cheaper than renaults dont TICK nowadays! is the relays.

i find it odd my passenger eleccy window doesnt tick (but window works) but the driver window ticks when you use the switch?

I think im pretty lucky with my 172, the only noise i have comes from that little plastic panel to the right of the steering wheel where the headlight & dash light dial thingys are. On certain road surfaces it vibrates a little bit... might have to get the glue out on that!!
I'm just glad theres no sunroof on the sport model!!

I had the same noise, its the climate control temperature sensor mate which costs about £10 from renault and is a 5 minute job.

a must be lucky aswell the only noise that drives me crazy is the sort of thumping noise when it wheel spins so tend not to do it so often. but its hard when its -2 degrees in stirling.

Ah, I see someone has linked to my vid how to.

Well, it's been over a month now since changing the fan, and so far it's still lovely and quiet. Try taking apart and greasing the shaft first

Its the interior temp/humidity sensor for the climate control, Ive had mine repaced under warranty. Not much point though as 5 months later the replacement is now buzzing like a fridge as well.
