Hybrid, Willy, ph1 172 or JapTurbo

Budget upto £5k, prefer staying nearer £3k love clios in all shapes and sizes and was thinking along the lines of a hybrid/willy and stripping it, cage, buckets etc but then i have always loved the ph1 172 and could do something similar, but a good one is nearer the top end of the budget, third and final option, forget clios and get something jap and turbo.

Also I dont do many miles now, my mileage has literally dropped by 12'000 a year with my change in jobs, so whatever I buy will need to do a 1mile round trip 5 days a week (lol) and 26mile round trip say twice a week and thats about it.

So what would you buy and why?
How is it living with a stripped out clio as your main drive?
Whats insuring a stripped out caged car like? I remember an insurance company telling me when i had the clio before that they wouldnt insure a roll cage.
Anything else I should be aware of?

oh and does anyone want a nice diesel punto :clown:

Neils thread is making me swing back towards the idea of a ph1 172... so whats a stripped out car like to live with on a day to day basis? and again, whats insuring them like with cage etc?

cages up the price iirc

as for stripped, depends what you toleration is like, and suspension i spose. i loved my valver when it was stripped, just add's to the whole experience, i can put up with it but could understand why some couldn't. but i am going that way again

tbh i think i will love it, and well the missus will jsut have to put up with it! She knows me well enough to know I will buy whatever I want, whether she likes it or not. Actually we were talking about cars last night and it went something like this:

Sarah: Whatever you have I am going to hear you coming arent I?

Me: The only thing that will vary hunny, is whether you hear me from a mile away or when I start the engine at home

lmao... getting a bit odd this lol. I am trying admiral now as a worst case insurance quote lol.

EDIT: Dont think Admiral will eb getting my business ever... They quoted me £1200 standard and £1900 with alloys, suspension, roll cage and uprated brakes
