i predict a problem, uh oh!

  XC90, 330d, Trophy’s
over the coming evening or 2, im going to be fitting the OMP subframe and new bucket seat into the car, along with harnesses etc.

the car has one of those annoying beeping tones that warns you if you drive off without fastening the seatbelt.

is there a simple way around this annoying noise?

maybe a simple fuse pull for the supply, or am i not that lucky?
or can you litterally loop the wiring back on itself to trick the system?

Cheers.

Go to the scrappy and cut a belt clip off any car. Will cost you £2 max.

Plug it in problem solved.

If you start messing about with wiring and want to sell the car at a later date you have to undo all your work.

When you remove the original seat it will take the seatbelt buckles out with it, and the wiring for the beep and light will be disconnected so its no longer a problem :)

i wouldnt worry so much about the car being sold at a later date, its going away in a couple of months to have a full weld in cage fabricated into it.

Jenic, i hope your right buddy ;)
just thought id ask the question in advance, my brain was ticking and i could forsee another wiring issue

if it doesnt work then ill go with Daniel's idea and take a trip to the scrappy ;)

I am right, I've done it ;)

Switch must be closed to bring on the beep, the belt being inserted breaks the switch to turn it off. Once you remove the wires under the seat the switch is no longer made, therefor no beep!
