Idle Stability!

  RenaultSport clio 172 mk2
Just bought a Clio Trophy, and the car seems spot on! The only slight thing I notice is the idle isn't quite perfect! The engine speed does not change at all (the rev counter is dead stable), and driveability round town, pulling away etc is perfect, and never comes close to mis-behaving in terms of stalling etc, just can hear it occassionally mis-firing at idle a small amount when warm (particularly if you listen at the exhaust outlets). Normally I wouldn't bother about this, I have had Elises before which are massively bad compared to this, but as it is a Euro IV emissions compliant car, I would expect the idle be perfect........

  MK2 Audi TT - 2.0T dsg.
Mine too, sounds cool though with my decat and custom SS zorst.
rutututututututu pop bang boom rutututututututu. :p

My 182Cup idles like s**t and always has done. It seems okay at 7250rpm though

I didnt buy it to sit in traffic making notes about how it idles.

adds character

LOL.... That's how I describe the rattles, knocks and bangs too - Typical of a French car isn't it?!

If you had the same thing on an Audi you'd call it a design fault......

Whereas on a French hatch it's called 'character'. We must be mad!!

I seem to remember that it's pretty lumpy as a result of making it Euro IV emissions compliant.
Never found it to be a problem tbh, ok when it's warmed up a little though.
