as u might know im selling my car, but i done an insurance quote just incase, and asda quoted me 800. thats a bargain on an mk2 ph2 1.6 16v.

im selling for a starlet gt and aa quoted me 700.

im loving this.

cutehomboi and nathanH try out www.bell.co.uk and you shoudl get it cheaper. I am going to take out a policy with them next week and it'll only cost me about £700 TPFT for a 1.4RT under my own name (I'm 18 with no NCB) - that is with two older women on the policy and all mods declared.

Don't know if you can get a quote at this time as I think the service is down (usually is anyway) btu try in the morning. Just make sure you ass some older females to the policy as that brings it down loads.

EDIT: I wasn't quick enough LOL.

Play Bell off against Elephant, they are sister companies and neither like to be beaten by the other. Seriously I got me insurance down from 870 to 638 on my moded 182. Have to ring them up though. In the end they were beating each other £1 at a time lol.

My insurance was 650 fully comp for my 1.2 16v plus no NCB due to accident!

Best quote without a doubt, next closest was 1100!!

Got a quote from bell for £678, thats fully comp me as 1st driver! Im 18 and have had a crash (which was my fault)! So 0 Years NCB! But have my mum and dad as2nd and 3rd drivers coz it brings it way down for some reason???

Thats only on a 1.2 RL right enough

Just got a quote through the Bell website, seems to be very cheap. I'll be checking them out at renewal time. I usually find Admiral or Elephant anyway, I'm not suprised to hear that Bell is a sister company or Admiral.

Watch Bell though, I was quoted a reasonably cheap quote (£800) on the Net...phoned the quote as the 'system wasn't working!(?!)' Spoke to some guy who said it was a 10 month policy, which other companies won't class as a year's no claims...so I asked for a proper 12 month policy...and they offered it me for nearly £200 more! Watch with them as they'll try and do the 10 month thing to tie you with them for a fair old while!

ahhhh ahhhh ahhhh *pokes Has with a big stick* Tesco are ridicolously shite when it comes to claiming 7months on from a crash where someone slammed into the back of me at a set of traffic lights and there still trying to blame me and get knock for knock to get more money out of me (£600 excess which they want me to pay before they even touch my car even tho repair job is only £220)

SO AVOID TESCO LIKE THE PLAGUE...

btw people remeber your insurance quote is affected by area code 2, so for instance someone living in townA might be at more risk than townB of having there car broken into so if you live in townA then it's going to cost more to insure you're motor because someones more likely to twok it.

it is put down as on the street as i dnt even have a driveway. im not sure about the postcode but its south glasgow anyway. and the car being totally standard (which it is).
and thats with admiral.
even though i work for an insurance company they wouldnt insure me lol.
