Today i was driving along and was in 2nd gear and went to overtake a van so put my foot to the floor. I went to change up at about 4000 rpm and i didnt realise that the accelerator had got stuck under the mat on the floor of the car.
So when i went to change up after putting in the clutch the engine starts hitting the rev limiter. After a couple of seconds max i realised how the throttle got stuck and managed to release it. I really shook me up. The car runs fine but do you think it would have caused any internal damage bearing in mind that this was the first time my car had been to the rev limiter?
Many thanks
