I have got the common problem of an intermittent immobiliser fault, where occasionally when turning the ignition on I get the flashing red light.
Often after a few attempts it goes, although recently I have had to hold the button on the key firmly while turning the ignition on to get the car started.
Does this mean it's a key fault, or is holding the button in somehow bypassing the immobiliser? I've looked inside the key and the circuit board looks fine.
Also if the key was to fail completely, is there any other way to get started? I know on some cars you can put in a code by turning the ignition on and off.
