Immobiliser issue?

So I recently bought a replacement engine for my cup, it came with the ecu, uch and key fob.

Budgie finished fitting the engine yesterday however it won't start. The car won't start/crank and the immobiliser light stays on then flashes red.

The original ecu etc was then fitted and started, however as the new engine has catcam 421's it was obviously running like a dog.

Ideally I would like to get the car running on the new ecu to save on mapping costs, especially as itb's will added in the future so would rather not pay for mapping twice.

Does anyone know how to get the car to recognise the new ecu/uch/fob?

Also, is the car ok to run long enough to get warm on the old ecu/standard map?

Anyone have any ideas on this?

It'll run on the vehicle's original ECU etc, but once i swapped the ECU, UCH and the key over to the new one (the one which is mapped), i get the immobiliser light flashing..

It should just work, I sold my 438's with ecu, uch, immo ring and keys and they worked first time.

Try holding down\in the button on the right hand stalk (or may be the left stalk can't remember, haven't had stalks for a while now) and turning key to position II. This will run the clocks\displays through a self test and also reset the immobiliser. When I had immobiliser issues this cleared\reset it fine.

Take it you've swapped the ring too?

Not swapped the decoder ring- I assumed this was just an antenna and not coded to the key?

Ok - Thank you for the help mate.

Had confirmation the decoder ring has been scrapped with the shell so is gone for good. Hopefully someone will be able to shed any light on how's best to proceed.

Does anyone know a garage local to Chertsey or Brighton with full CLIP services? Rentech are full booked for the foreseeable future so need any other suggestions?
