Impreza Hatch Sti

He's talking s**t. It's not like I went out and bought my car cash (I couldn't)

Really do love it mate. Any interior/engine pics?

That is also a very good price considering the spec.

Looks great! I always thought they looked weird when I first saw them. Not anymore though!! I love it!
Same. When they first came out I thought that was game over for the Imprezas but now, I love them. More so than the new saloon ones..

I've seen Cosworth one in grey a couple of times. To the untrained eye, it just looks like a regular family car (exhausts & badges aside lol) 0-62 in 3.7 secs though

In theory my hatch should be exactly the same as I've got bassically the same engine set up and power yet to try it though,

I know I got 3.1 in my last blob at 0-62 event

That had no fancy traction system the hatch does only the DCCD system but that would spin all 4 R888 on launch

Launch and Anti Lag set at 4,250 and drop the clutch

Lovely hatch and very nice price too. I'm looking to get my second Impreza next year and I'm drawn between a hatch sti or a spec c hawk eye.

How does the hatch handle compared to your old blob?

To be honest the hatch seems to be a much more stiffer chassis but the biggest biggest draw back is the steering feel, just to overly light for my liking

Luckily you can have the rack revised to be heavier which in going to have done and that's brings to about 9/10 on steering feel

In comparison

Ideal. Yes I have heard the modded PAS makes a big difference. Litchfield doing it?

Very nice Hatch mate, looks like my old one! i have had several Blob eye ones but the hatch was the looker, once forged and the weak bits done they are monster 5dr whip, mine was non forged but was running 340bhp loads spent on it to the point i found it too stiff and raw as a daily! miss it now seeing this.

Cheers mate, the hatch is very stealthy looking as you don't expect it, just looks like a focus to hatchback to some.

It's picking the line between raw and still fun on the road

My blob needed a 25mm rear arb and 24mm front and the hatch only needs 20mm front 22mm rear max

You are right you can go too far and it then needs to be a weekend hooning not daily traffic crawling commute.

Found all the info on the spec list mine had done, hope you don't mind me sharing, also a few snaps from the advert when i was stupid enough to sell her!!

Nice to see its not just me that has a scooby, although mine is a Blobeye wagon its my daily driver until i get the clio V5 in the post.

Love all of those cars, love the STI hatch the most. Looks awesome.

I actually know nothing about these. Are you saying it's 2.5L and forged as standard? What power level is standard? Bet it flies with 400bhp!!

What was 11k, the 335d?

Hi mate, In standard form they are 305bhp but the engine is known to be bad they tend to melt pistons,
within 17,000 the engine destroyed itself so it had a brand new engine under warranty but the owner paid extra to have Forged pistons, crank, rods and uprated bearing and bolts fitted to future proof it.

Yeah safe to say its pretty nippy can easily get you in trouble

The bmw sold for £15,000 and I purchased the Subaru for £11,000

The 2.5 wasn't a good engine, has a few problem's.

They need to be forged to be really. I know Torque GT won't take them as a PX unless they have been.

Agree quite a few specialists will refuse them, very friendly with Hursts and they wont touch them with a barge pole unless they have been forged

the best is the JDM Sti 2.0L then its the 2005 Sti 2.0L

Best thing to do with the 2.5 is get the block machined to make it closed deck. Most people with 2.5 forged and dont have too many issues but making the block stronger reduces the risk of the liners wobbling.
Common problem cylinder 3 melts due to not having parallel fuel rails i learnt the hard way with this. Best thing i ever did way bolt on my TD05 20G and hike the boost but now im waiting for the gearbox to give out before i decide to upgrade to 6 speed from an Sti.

I'll look forward to hearing that.
I'm going to be removing mine this weekend so that I can get them heated wrapped.

Did my down pipe yesterday.
