Improvements without insurance?

  mk2 1.4
Hi, im 19 with a mk2ph1 1.4. The previous owner really treated her badly and so i have mashed alloys, dented doors and scraped bumpers:dapprove:. I really cant afford to be paying more on insurance but was just wondering how much you can do without legally having to tell them? Am i correct to assume i can change the alloys for other standard clio ones? I really dont know much about all this so your help is much appreciated.

p.s. Wasnt sure whether to put this in the insurance forum but im assuming you guys would know about these sorts of things.

You still have to declare manufacturer alloys, but iirc it doesn't affect your premium. Apart from that, you need to declare all exterior mods regardless of how subtle they are.

no need to declare that, u can get it all fixed with standard bits and no need to declare, ull be fine mate.

Standard bits (i.e. manufacturer) parts for your car can just go back on legally without the insurer knowing! :)

If you have alloys already, you could just buy some new ones of the same size and no need to tell them as long as you declared your old ones, they arent going to know you changed them. thats all i did when i changes between my old 17s and my new ones.
