Impulse bought an old Renault. Whoops

Car  Clio GT 128
Scrolling through eBay the other day I spotted a low mileage Renault 19 thought it looked quite cool. Kinda left it then earlier today it popped up with 1 hour left stuck a small bid on it and ended up winning it. So now I have a sight unseen 1989 1.4 Renault 19 that I don't need.

Anyone had one? Might measure it up for a 172 swap?

Love it. Proper ripe for a sleeper conversion. 225/250 meggy lump? Epic stuff

As said, thats crying out for a 250/265 engine, the shape reminds me of the AE86 Toyota’s!

Mega! 172 should in theory drop straight in as chassis takes the f7 engines that the mk1 clios then used and the f4 bolts straight into the clio too

Impulse buys are the best, looks tidy. Set of williams wheels and in theory 172 should drop in without too much hassle

That does look very tidy for an old low rent 19. I've seen enthusiast owned 16v's in much worse condition. Definitely ripe for an engine swap.

Awesome, there was a base spec 19 at Dynodaze this weekend with a Meg 225 lump dropped in. Looked more like a barn find, never washed, mould infested, hub caps! But 230hp!
I had a Chamade 16V and a Hatch 16V years ago, I dropped a C1J lump in from a GT Turbo with a hybrid which kicked out 180hp and torque.
