In your opinion what’s this noise??

Hi all

I’ve had a 182 offered to me with this engine noise...



What do you think it will be?

It could be a perfect car to run alongside the 172 track car! So I’m rather interested in knowing what it might be.

Apparently it’s had a recent service and started making this noise after the work was carried out

sounds like frayed aux belt slapping around?

Go and have another look, it should be fairly obvious if it's what bloke said.

But you don't want to keep it running for Long like that or itl take the cam belt out when it goes

This is certainly on my agenda as I can get it to my unit and even if it’s an engine out jobby, I do not mind.

I’m not the best person for engine advice... so this noise really isn’t something I can diagnose myself.
My thinking is even if the engine is dead, it’s a rebuild or replacement.

if it is just frayed belt then easy enough to sort out, just don't drive it until you know it is the belt or not, if it is then tow it home time :wink:
