Induction kit??

I know that on a 1.2 16v an induction kit will do jack all for performance but will it give the car better sound, cos i dont really want to buy a new exhaust system.

if you want a kit for sound, get a metal mesh kit, it made my mkc 1.2 sound like a touring car. just get some sort of heat shield for it. Metal mesh I would say if u want a really nice sport induction rasp/note

My viper made a huge difference on my 1.2, when i took it off it felt as slow as shite. Custom feed was too the original location

How much you talking for one of those mate, and does it require any major modification, cos got my car on the 3 year thing with renault so will be handing it back so dont really wanna be changing it that much.

viper kits approx £200, sports rear box from around £100, from 200 cat back, but metal mesh cone filter, or even a CDA halfords special less than £80. metal mesh from £20.00, but make sure u heat shield filter, as the heat coupled to metal mesh will thin air out and loose upto 5% power. With heatshield u may gain upto 1.5bhp, but sound difference is something to behold. MKC 1.2 16v Corsa I meant to say

metal mesh kits come with a mounting bracket. its as simple as removing ur current airbox, un doing a bolt to fasten bracket to, torque wrenching it up tight, and securing cone unit to bracket and air intake pipe. if ur new to it, set aside maybe a hour at most.

not off by heart but u could try potn.com, or the old favourite ebay, im bidding on a cupra 160 intake myself at moment, shame its 5days to finish. really want it, so I no got tie-wrap held tube to gap air goes through in front, go for proffesional finish. halfords have some. it gives the engine a sort of slightly hard edged metallic wrasp generally, and the customary thumm when u first touch throttle with gusto

viper you can pick up for around the 200 mark from 2modified.com, samco elbow was 30 quid (much cheaper alternatives out there though) and the stainless bend was free from powerflow lol.

If you want noise however go for an open induction like a pipercross vector from roughly around 60ish quid. Will prob reduce h/p though

the best stainless steel mesh induction kits for noise are powertec. Their about £90 and give the best power gain unless you want to get a viper.

Be warned though- you only get the deep noise on full throttle at about 3000rpm onwards, so you will notice your fuel guage drop a lot quicker than usual, as youll become hooked on the sound they make.

im with lusty, i got a powertec and i love it! you will need a cold air feed and a head shield as this kit does not come with them! quality sound at 3000rpm! i paid £95 and took 5 mins to fit!

Does anyone know where I can buy the adapter that fits over the hole where the original airbox feeds into. It goes from a hole about an inch and a half in diameter into the big rectangle.
