Insurance and plastidip

Anyone know if you will have to declare plastidip on the insurance as a colour change? I would imagine you will but I'm unsure as its a non permanent colour change.

I was thinking exactly this last night. Maybe PM one of the insurance traders on here!

Just spray it on, then pull it off when you have a crash before contacting your insurers innit...

In all seriousness, if you're spraying the entire car - I'd notify your insurance, no doubt they wouldn't look favourably on you if you had an accident in a bright green rubbery clio instead of the silver(?) one you told them you had.

Just thinking, plasti-dipping a car would be ideal for a getaway car surely? Get some dodgy/obscured plates, rob a bank, drive off, peel off plastidip, fit proper plates, drive like a gran. You now are £84,742 richer. Or something.

Being a modifications specialist we wouldnt have a problem at all with this and can just note it on your policy. Were you thinking of Plastidipping the whole car??....if so that would be pretty cool. We had one customer that did his Focus ST Matt Blue in Plastidip looked really good.

If you are with a standard mainstream type insurer then you would be best off giving them a call to check.
