^^ exactly, putting mother on wont make much difference. she actually add's £30 to the policy for my current car :(

adding my 17 year old gf with elephant reduced my policy by about £1500, it was wierd because if i added my 21 year old sister instead it increase it.

IF you have a 17 year old lass you knw, try it

lol mate, you can't get a mk1 172, its either a mk2 phase1 or a mk2 phase 2.

same thing, its hard to know what to use.

some people call it ph1 some call it mk1.

it is actually a mk1 172 because there wernt any before it... but its a mk2 ph1 clio

get me??

Ive just ran a quote through for as a 19 year old, 2 years driving, 1 years ncd, £2668!

2200/10 = £220

220 * 2 = £440

440 + 2200 = £2640

so not far off..

its actually cheaper insureing somone else as a main driver such as a partner than your parents,
adding parents will bump up your quote mainly because insurance companies know what is happening,
also its cheaper as well if the person you are putting on your policy is at the same address.

it wont make you feel better but i get a 172 in a few weeks and my quote is £900 f/c 1yr NCB on my own policy and 3yr NCB from being on my partners policy and not claiming. how good is that . im 21,
i would of had full NCB but someone robbed my alloys on my vtr nearly 3yrs ago and that has buggered my currant quotes up. luckly the 3yrs is up in oct, so i no longer have to declare it.

^^ sounds like a good quote to me!

what you getting mk1 or mk2 172??

oh and I see your in my area :) see you at a meet soon then??

But if you're on your partner's policy before, then have you actually got the 3 years NCB? I thought this was something new that has only just been introduced...

well what was the deal then..........

the insurance on my old clio was in my mums name and i was a named driver, just paid the premium. when i got my 172 i was changed to the policy holder and inherited the NCB (mum had the same policy for 6 years) i then switched the policy to the 172. Also all 4 of our cars including mine are with NFU.

Does nobody try directline? i've found it cheapest yet.

I'm 22, no no claims, driving 5 years +, no accidents or points, 172 cup parked on the drive, 15000 miles a year, £1030!

i think thats cheap, oh and me as named driver on dads its £435

directline sent me a letter saying they are bringing back the named drive NCB discount and that i have 3yr NCB
i did a quote on the internet with dircetline and the calculated my NCB and its correct, lol directline saved me quite a bit, elephant quoted me £1400f/c with 1NCB (im female so its also cheaper) :)

greenlight seem to be VERY cheap, I've run quotes for a mk1 172 on most insurance companies for my re-newal in september. Green light where cheapest by about £500!
