Insurance Compaines Take the Mick!!

Just got an insurance quote from a company because mine are being very petty over something, so thought I'd see what other companies would charge me.

Did a quote, and put my most recent points on (03/2007), but didn't realise that it asked for the last 5 years.

Anyway, got the quote - £640.

Realised that it said 5 years, amended the quote, to include my points of 11/2002, and the bloody quote doubled.

For something which happened 4 years 8 months ago.

I got completely stitched up for the points that I am being penalised for (5 - CD10) by a Police officer lying in their statement because they hadn't done something they were supposed to do.

The other 3 were fair cop (if a little harsh), CU80 (Mobile phone) at a red light.

I wasn't whinging about having points or the fact the company doubled their price. Just very frustrating.

Can you not get a pay as you go cover thing for the next 4 months?

I've got cheaper quotes now anyway, it was just very frustrating.

Been there mate, had my own insurance since getting the car, and so far the prices have been:

Year 1 - £1300 F/C
Year 2 - £1000 F/C
Year 3 - £700 TPFT
Year 4 - £400 TPFT
Year 5 - £250 TPFT

This is on a Fiesta ZS btw, not a 1.2 clio. My current insurance company want an extra £450 to swap from Clio to ZS, taking it to £700 F/C.

Lol, I had a 1.25 Fiesta for a year, and never had one problem with it.

Always liked the ZS, so gonna get one, lol.

yeah i got flashed on a camera, a few months back,(luckly never got a ticket) i tried outin in that and the fixed penalty i got for unknowingly having my front fogs on at 2am) and my insturance doubled to nearly £4000, being 19 with an unsettled claim (not my failt but she wont pay hense still a black mark) ona 1.6 laguna.

bit because of the fix pen and the outstandng claim the cheapest insurance i can get on my clio, now i'm 20 is £1395. dambit!!
