if ur nearly 19 how could u have 2 years no claims?

im confused tbh

I insured my first car as a provisional driver. Got a certificate of 1 years from quinn and this insurer is a ten month plan thing i think... :S but would that count as another years ncb with different companies ?

yeh you can use that ncb you got with the 10 months with other companies. i have got 2 years no claims using this, and it does not state anywhere on your ncb certificate how it was gained.

lol nevermind that then.

Urrghh anyone work for an insurer ? can get me a cheap deal ?

Theres a private insurance brokers near my house looks like a family run business and they advertise car insurance, guy who works there has a 106 gti parked outside everyday. What you reckon the price from there would be like ?, probably through a main insurer or something :(

Well same details with more miles and a higher valued car got me £1650 on my old 172 when I first had it from flux, although I was paying just under £1k for my 1.6 the year before too. You live in a bad postcode or something?

Maybe so :(

Probably end up getting something german by then though, not a massive 197 fan and most french hot hatches that have come out recently are complete w**k
(207 gti )

Maybe an R32 :dapprove:

i work for an insurance broker but we dont really have good deals for younger people

i think you might just have to face the fact you cant/is to expensive to get insured on a 172 at 19 :(

Does it come down a fair ammount at 20/21 mate ?

I really don't want to be driving a 1.4 until im 25 -____-

should do mate

im in the same position being 19

im wating to get a golf gti, but the premium drops to £600 when i turn 20, so im just waiting, but typically it should drop when your 21

just be patient mate, build up your no claims

possibly consider something other than a 172? as from personal quotes they are very expensive to insure

Been looking at valvers but to be perfectly honest there rusty s**t tips lol, couldn't do with one for a daily driver unless it was an absoloute minter.

I quite like the old polo (mk5?) gti's (the ones with BBS wheels)
but i'v heard the steering and handling is average at best.
