Insurance on a V6 at 20 - 1793

  Clio V6
I know what you mean, but running it won't be a problem. After mortgage, phone, gym, a loan if I did get one I would still have 1k left over each month.

They are aimed at whoever can afford one.

I have a van for work and back, going to the gym, general running around, so will just be an expensive toy.

Cool, well despite your young age it sounds like you would be well positioned to own one so fair play to you.

I'm sure you've done some research inot ownership, the main thing is to make sure you don't t**t the panels / kit as it is seriously expensive to repair ;)

The panels are the one thing that I worry about when I drive it, if someone hits it I know it'll be expensive (well for them anyway)

Yup that's one of the reasons why I sold it, I felt like a piece of china in a shop full of bulls when I was driving it as other motorists simply didn't care for my car as much as I did. The main thing is to never park it in a public area (unless you can see it)!

I think you'd be mad. The old boy pays £500 on an AMV8 and still thinks its too much. Regardless of wether it's affordable or not, it's effectively like burning money.

I say go for it when you can afford to buy it outright.

May aswell get it all out of your system while your young and have free cash.

I might have paid a quote like this 2 years ago whilst staying with the rents but now i just wouldnt bother.

This coupled with the fact id want another car to run along side it as i wouldnt want to use it daily, i think it could begin to become a little expensive.

I pay 1700 a year full comp on my own policy for my 172.. I'm 20 too.. 3 years experience, etc, so I guess you have had a touch with that insurance quote. hoping mine will drop in a few months when it's up for renewal.

the 1700 policy did start before I was 20 though so that is most likely the reason for the high cost.

works out at around 160 a month.. not too bad if you want a car like this at 20 and not being funny when you're 25 you'll probably have a mortgage and girlfriend to support so it is DEFINATELY best to do it while you still can

go for it, in other words :)

what is weird is, admiral quoted me 1500 for this exact policy just last week. yet the monthly payments were in excess of £200? I didn't do it obviously.. no idea why such high costs. my insurance are charging interest/premium rate too due to paying monthly to surely admiral cannot justify over 40 extra a month for a policy that is 200 LESS per year?

Vee's are supercars iirc mate ;)

Craig...Get it right son. "Hypercar!"

TBH 1700 insurance is bloody good if your a D rated postcode. IIRC Basra is a C rated!!!!!!!

I paid 1400 for mine at 21 with 2yrs NCB, 3points and A rated PC
then 1100
then 682 this year if and when i put it on the road. No points 4yrs blah blah

As per PM, give me a shout when your ready to buy!

Go for it, if you've nothing else to spend your money on. I know i would of at your age, however priorities change in life when you get older/married/have a family! Do it while you can fella!

Oi less of the 25 ;)
I do have 2 morgages and a mrs but I still have a r26 and gt turbo and only pay £600 fully comp or the 26 and £125 fully for the gt ;)
God it's good to be old

I thought insurance would be a lot higher than that to be honest. Sounds a great deal, do it! You know you want to!

thats more than my mates paying for his shitty old fiesta lol!

Do you mind me asking at what age you could get insured on a 172 or 182?
