Im pretty sure the gearnob is just brute force to get off.. better wait for someone that knows for sure to reply though.. lol can just imagine you pulling the entire gearstick off and finding out later it twisted off..
You have to cut both off i used a junior hacksaw for the gearknob and a very sharp stanley for the handbrake and cut it from underneath but watch the fingers mate
Cloth over the knob and use big pliers or so to twist it off with force beign carefull obviously. Mine came off with no dmaage but was tough to get off!! i can assure u they do not need cuttign tho!
Handbrake cover.... needs to be cut tho im afraid.
I used my dremel to cut it off slowly. Obviosuly cut sections away then used a chisel to prise the bits apart (carefull for debris flying or snapping off it)
