Internet connection problem

My laptop takes between 1 - 3 minutes to connect to the internet. Its the same wired or wireless. I have tried it on my mums connection and a mates and it is the same. So deffo a problem with the laptop. It has been like it for several months now. It used to connect in about 15 seconds. All the latest updates and drivers are on it.
Any of you clever guys out there got any ideas?

In IE, go to Tools > Internet Options > Connections > Lan Settings

Let us know what the settings are.

Is it loading loads of s**t first when you first boot it up? See what's running on startup in msconfig and stop everything that's unnecessary.
