Vodafone rep has just posted this on the forum:

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry for the delay in answering this!

As you know, the £59 bill credit offer ended yesterday, so doesn't apply to these new offers.

We will be contacting every single customer who will be affected by more than £59 and offering them the better deal – no one will be out of pocket and in some cases, customers will be considerably better off.

Once I have details about the contact being made, I'll let you know. I'd really urge you not to call about this in the meantime, I promise we'll call you to make arrangements.

Thanks,

Tom

wait until dispatch, then call C/C to get a credit for the difference.

The ONLY way to sort now would be cancel and re-order, and you wouldnt want to do that!!

Agreed. So annoying though! They should have released these deals last week and then I could have gone for the 32gb model for £10 more, now unless I wait for ages I'll have to stick with the 16gb. Ok I will save myself £90 but I'd rather have the extra storage.

Hold on their website hasn't changed. Can you please put it in black and white for me.

My order:

16GB iPhone 4S. 12 Month contract and £41 a month. Handset price £259. Then i get the £59 cash back.. Does this affect me?

If your contract and handset price haven't changed then you have nothing to worry about mate and you will still get the £59 cashback offer in November.

Im so confused as to what the best way forward is!! Ive decided I want one, and either 32gb or 64gb.

My contract with Orange finishes on the 9th of Nov, although Ive been allowed an upgrade since July. BUT Ive been thinking about switching to O2 as I get discount from my work, although I dont know how much it is yet, prob 10% or something.
Also, dont know whether its best to shell out and go sim free or go monthly (looking at a max of £40 a month really).

Any advice??? :)

If your getting 10% off, probs better off getting an expensive contract. (£42), and having £4.20 off per month. Just do a few calculations to see what suits your needs the best, e.g. how flexible, how long, how much you can lump now, how much you want a month (£21.50-£40) dependant on 02 simplicity or contract etc.

Right ok cheers. I want an 18month contract I know that, with unlimited texts. My last was 2 years and it has been soooo painfully long, lol. I could lump it now if need be, although I would prefer not to ideally. Are O2 good on customer service as everyone seems to be slating them on here? The internet thing I know nothing about  Is it worth getting 1GB or is that for really heavy usage?

I think they are great, phoned 3 times this week and through to an english person within a minute.

1gb is fairly heavy usage, apparently less than 5% use this amount.

If you lump about £500 now for a 16bg 4S, you can go on 02 simplicity for £21.50 per month for 12 months, this can leave you to make a fresh decision this time next year when hopefully the 5 will be out.

Or you could just get an 18/24 myth contract, sell your 4S next year, and buy a 5 and keep your contract going, or just keep the 4S, really depends on what you want to do.

I've lumped £500 and paying £21.50, 600 mins, 300 02 mins, 500mb and lots of texts, suits me :)

Must say, that is one thing I hate about Orange, you can never understand the person on the other end, and everything takes 3x longer because they dont have a wide enough english vocabulary to understand what you are saying (not their fault) just annoying.

Yours sounds pretty good actually. Am I right in thinking yours works out to £758? Although I want atleast a 32gb so will prob be atleast another £100. I dont get what the difference is between O2 simplicity n normal O2 though . . . excuse my complete ignorance, did look on their website but it all takes so long so figure out :dapprove:

Doubt that will be true, doubt they would hype up the 'despatch day', id put money on it arriving Friday.

Totally disagree, every time I've rang Orange, I've had a very helpful Geordie saleswoman, numerous times I have rang and always added bonuses on my account free of charge.

I've used 1GB a fair few times.

iMessage helped that along quite a lot, lol.

I stuck to 500mb going by previous bills and only going up to 1gb once when streaming sky sports for a few football/rugby games whilst at Uni.

Now at home, wifi will be used mostly so no point but ill keep an eye on it as still connect at work, on the move and at the gym, you can always up it when ever you want anyway! (£4 extra pm)

It's a proven fact that people with a Geordie accent make people feel like they can deal with them easier. True story.

I get F&F through my employer. As said, it's 30% off tariff prices. T&Cs state I have to be there with my work I.D when if I'm letting someone else use the discount and I can only use it 4 times a year. However, I just called O2 after I got my contract in store and asked to get my F&F discount applied. They didn't ask who I worked for or who referred me. I also got £75 credit on my bill for some reason.

Thinking of buying a 4s from Apple direct as my contract doesn't run out until April next year. Does anyone know if its just a case of sticking in my 02 sim card and away I, go or does it have to be bought as part of a contract to allow full use of features ect?

If you buy it SIM free then it'll be fully unlocked so you can put any network SIM in it and it'll work straight away.

I asked in O2 about that, they said just whack your old card in and it'll work straight away.

BUT....I think you have to get a new micro SIM from them, if you havent got one already.
