I take it you haven't looked at brand new iPhone prices.

£650 isn't exactly that far out I mean the current 32gb iPhone4 is £612 sim free.

Truth be told you guys are actually predicting the price of a product that doesn't exist.
Apple rumours every year come out and they're just plain speculation. It becomes tiresome!

It doesn't need to exist to predict it's price to be fair.
Apple tend to be rather predictable with pricing...mainly because nothing has really changed in years. Their replacement products all tend to cost the same as the outgoing models and have done for a long time. MBP in 2008 cost £150 less than the equivalent does now for instance. Add in s**ttier market now, VAT increases and lower £ - $ worth etc and it makes up a chunk of that.
So depending on spec. I would say the prices quoted won't be that far from the truth, thinking logically about it. Unless the thing is seriously special...or s**t.

The way Apple dealt with the last iPhone release would show if they had problems with distributing contracts in bulk etc, or if they just wanted to shift as many 'handset onlys' as possible, so definitely related. It doesn't mean it will happen this time, but that wasn't the question.

www.iphone5release.org has far more realistic ideas of whats going to happen than the regular hardcore apple fanboys on here

My contracts up on the 20th Sept, do you think the 5 is going to be a massive improvement over the 4? Its wether i can justify the poss cost of phone/contract etc. Or just go with the four?

i don't see why apple would bother... the iPhone 4 becomes the cheaper phone for 6 months until they stop making it... EVERY year the same story happens... by releasing 2 phones they would be shooting them selfs in the foot as most people would buy the cheaper version and the iPhone 4 would lose all sales over night.
the next phone they bring out they will just discount the price on the 4, just like they did when the 4 came out the 3gs was made cheaper.

I think apple already know this,
The iphone nano will be aimed at the 'pay as you go' market or the cheapest contract iphone, ie free handset and £20-£25/month this will give scrubbers that currently have sh1te motorolas or nokias the change to now have an iphone but the nano wont have the bells and whistles of the iphone4 model
The iphone4 will be the midrange model and become the standard iphone
The iphone 5 will then become the iphone Pro
All my opinion of course but im certain this is what will happen

So it generates a wider target market. So the cheapskate one (if there is one coming) won't exactly damage apples reputation, it could simply enhance it and make it appeal to a bigger market.
