Ahh see I don't need all that data as I use it pretty much with a WIFI hotspot local.

O2 do £20 for unlimited messages and minutes, and 1GB data.

You can always add another one off 100MB/500MB those months you go over for £3/£6.

To be fair I barely use mine either but it's nice to have the option. If for some reason my net was down at home for a few days it would be nice to have the phone for back up. Also like the fact that GiffGaff isn't a contract. Can just leave it whenever you want. Simplicity is fixed 12 month terms IIRC.

Yeah, if you don't top up the required £10 a month on mine, you simply don't get your unlimited calls/texts so it wastes down your credit. Once that's gone, you have to top up the required £10 again to activate them.

Eurgh, as much as I don't want to I think I'm going to end up going with a 12 month sim only deal with Voda. :dead: 900 mins, unlimited texts and 1Gb data a month for £15.50.

Ideally I want to go back to O2 or join Harpham being a pikie on Tesco but need to see if I can actually get enough signal in my new gaff to send a text let alone make a call. Suppose I'll be sticking with my rolling monthly contract till I can get people round on the other networks to test - albeit with iPhone 4/4S.

I'm sticking with o2 regardless. My missus is on Tesco and it can be f*cking awful at times.

I despise Voda, their customer service is woeful and their 3G network is pretty much non existant but they're the only network that I can get a signal booster in my home to get good signal. O2 are great except that signal at home is w**k, pretty much "No Service" unless I balance on my dick on the third step whilst spinning around. Why they won't just release the Boost Box for personal customers is beyond me, I'd happily pay for it. Only considering Tesco as they're cheap and use O2 masts and I had so many fewer data drop offs with O2 compared to Voda.

I don't even need unlimited texts anymore. iMessage does me fine.

Even pikey Scutch will have iMessage soon.

I'm looking forward to getting a 5 (the battery on my 4 is dying a death).

Epic phone but there is a price to pay for all that quality.

Anyway, contracts...

When I bought my 4 (16gb) the cost was £140 upfront and 45 x 18 months (O2).

I'm guessing the 5 (32gb) will be around £200 upfront and 45 x 24 months?

I know this is just speculation but I'm wondering whether people agree with the above pricing?

I agree that I won't be paying it.

£599 + £10/£15 a month sim. (x12 months).

iPhone 4S at 32GB was £170 plus £36 a month for 24 months.

Three is £15 for unlimted data, and luckily service is good in my area!

Scutch - Tesco runs on O2, surely should get same reception/service?

Must be her phone then. She's got an Xperia S I think. She got it for nothing off her dad. I can have 4 bars and she's got 1 or 2.

Saying that, my 3GS now is absolute f*cking rats. It's constantly saying No Service on mine and I've tried Airplane mode on/off a few times every day but it's still the same. Occassionally the service will pop up so I can send a text in a 2 minute window but then back to no service. Annoying as hell.

I'm in no rush anyway so I'll probably just wait and see how things develop with GiffGaff and the nano sim.

Re: iPhone 5. Pre-Orders 14/9 00:01am UK Time. Ships 21/9. iOS6 19/9

Actullly the three deal is now £12.90 for 200 mins, 5000 texts and unlimited data - you can already order a nano sim too :)

Me either, since iMessage I've gone from sending nearly 4,000 texts a month to less than 350. I don't really need more than 500Mb of data but occasionally I breach the limit and the same with minutes occasionally go over 300. Ideally the contract I need would be 500minutes, 1000 texts and 750Mb of data.

For the 32Gb 5 and the 12 month Voda contract I'm looking at £65 a month all in. My previous 4 contract with O2 was £36 a month and, I think, £300 for the phone so about £53 a month. But add them up over the term and it's £780 or £954, so I'll go with the 12 month and be able to renew sooner.

I still do around 600-800 messages a month, despite having iMessage lol. Tbh I could use Whatsapp and get that right down.

I'm seeing if I can get some discount with Three due to being in part of their group.

Yes, its iphone to iphone only and requires a data connection (so if you send a text when on phone and non 3g it wont go as one for example)

guys on a more serious note what the f**k are people going to do that are on lesser known carriers like myself (tesco) who 1 million percent won't have nano sims for launch??

Yeah... lol

Not sure whether you were serious or not though.

I didn't have a f*cking clue.

What I meant was if Revels was sending me texts in iMessage was he getting them for free whereas I was being charged for mine (not that I was anyway, but using that logic.)

Also, to add to that, he referred to me as a pikey earlier as I wasn't on it, but with that in mind, surely getting things for free is pikey, and I was paying. So he's the pikey.

Done.
