iPhone - more than the sum of its parts.

I love mine. It's unlocked so I can use it with my SIMs. Paid 24000 Thai Baht which is about 500E or £350. No contract though so much cheaper than any 02 offereing over a year or more.

The lack of some features that bothered me before I had one, doesn't bother me now. It's something you have to own to "get it". Everything is so slick and easy. Anyone (including me) who had doubts about its brilliance, should just buy one and have a coke and a smile :)

I use it here in the UK and abroad with no issues at all. I need to crack my YouTube though but all in good time. Love surfing on wireless using Safari. I was sat in the airport last night checking my email on the Wi-Fi network there. The phone also attracted a few comments from complete strangers. Go figure. Whether or not you hate the idea of jumping on the bandwagon - it doesn't matter because this device is so cool :approve:

you can get the new IPod for about 200 which is exactly the same format as the IPhone and has all same features except the phone. Phone salesman told me that!! Says the phone is a waste of money and effort, as a music player/internet it is spot on, but you may as well just get the new iPOd!! :)

iPhone is excellent, best phone I've owned.

The all networks unlock will no doubt appear soon and mean you only have to pay the £269 asking price.

everyone loves the touch but hates the iphone?? thats just dumb the iphone is a touch with a phone lol, i would rather carry one device than 2!!! the iphone as a phone works perfectly i have had no problems, which is more than i can say for any other phone i have had in the past 5 years, i can call txt and email simple and easy i dont use my phone for a camera as im a photographer lol, i have a n95 also and its s**t, ok it has a good camera but it crashes the battery lasts 10 mins and it feels like someone made it out of left over fisherprice toys lol....

iphone is perfect and anyone i have shown it to loves it too lol....

Mate has one, was showing me at the wekend, and I have to say I was inpressed, especially the video playback quality and the zooming in on browsing.

Very nice. Too big for your pocket at the weekend tho...

and I would'nt pay £269 + £900 or whatever tho, as I already have an Ipod video and a phone that makes and receives calls...

Great gadget tho

I'm with you on the syncing side of things, I'll tell you when to sync thank you!

Much prefer to have a phone seperate to an iPod personally, if only for battery purposes, and Apple being homo's make it impossible on the move to swap to a spare battery.

I have auto sync turned off and also have had no problems with battery life. Even with wifi left on the iPhone easily beats the battery life of previous Nokias I have owned.

If the iPhone had a decent camera, could MMS and had HSDPA then I'd be interested.

As it stands I'm completely in love with the N95. Batter life is poor, but that's my only grumble. I completely impressed with the availability, flexibility and functionality of all of the software I've installed.

I very much doubt the iPhone will be that open for some time to come.

It's a crying shame really as the iPhone had so much potential to be an a absolute hero of a device. Instead it's probably be remember as the HMS Dreadnaught of its day; it'll kick start a revolution but be redundant within a short space of time.

N95 FTW.

People bang on about the n95 being current and up to date but its OS is nearly 6 years old. (the basic core features) S60 is so clunky as a phone OS.

S60 touch should improve the situation but UIQ smacks it in the head.

I have to agree,I cannot understand the fascination with the n95 or other recent n series phones. My n73 was the worst phone I've owned in a very long time, a 6630 I had two or three years prior was far better and ran quicker than the new breed of nokia symbian handsets.

For me the iPhone is far superior in all tasks I use on a daily basis.

Aye my old 6600 ran better, faster and more stable my old N80 did. I've since ditched Nokia Symbian based phones and had a K800i for a while and now LG Viewty.

Good for you - It's horses for courses. You have a set of priorities when you look for your next phone. Whichever one fit's most you buy. As the iPhone is rediculously costly, has a shite camera, doesn't send MMS and doesn't take video that puts it below my old k700i for me lol.

I have a job where I can get my hands dirty so a touch screen is out of the question, and I have an mp3 player if I want music. So for me it's about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. lol.

Although a small part of me want's it because it's a must have (and I'll bet there are a few on here that have one that reason alone - usually the ones who defend it so passionately!) i'd never pay money for a phone AND a contract.
