iPhone remote app problem... :(

Had the first phone working fine... it had a imperfection on th back so got it replaced... now when i try to set up the new phone with remote... the 4 digit code box wont appear in the devices menu so i can't plug it in... any ideas?

Tried restarting both itunes and phone

Mac or PC? I had this when I tried iTunes at work, but restarting iTunes solved it.

As an aside, perform a restore as well on the phone as there is a later build of firmware than they ship with, but if you do a "check for update" it will tell you that you are already running the latest version, even though you aren't.

You running little snitch or anything? Maybe it's been accidentally blocked.

not that i know of.... weird bit that i see is it was working beofre with the other phone :S

The 4 digit box appeared instantly for me when I launched Remote on the iPhone and then clicked on my iPhone name in iTunes. Same happened when I had to reinstall it.
