ipod adapter help

i maybe wrong... but it looks to me as though you just use the original wiring plugs!

Then run the ipod charger into your glovebox!

see, that word scares me lol 'loom'

do i unplug something (the loom) then fit the ISO leads into the cd player then the loom to the ISO leads?

i suppose i could just buy this and ask for help if/when i need it.

so is it pretty straight forward?

its plug and play... you remove your standard unit... unplug the ISO connectors, plug them into your new cable (in the link) then the new cables into the headunit...

MT Audio do the proper jobs so you can control it with your steering wheel and everything. Ive had about 3 off him for different cars!

In theory, your not allowed to change your songs as you will be using your phone whilst driving. :(

damn. just paid :(

oh well. i'll 'set my playlist before setting off'

and im sure i saw something in the news that you can use devices in your car if you touch them with the tip of one finger. (bare in mind this was years ago lol)

Riiiiiiiight. Problem.

Took cd player out, wired up aux in and checked it was ok... Was fine, although it didn't charge (I'll ask for help on that later) but I figured that could be dealt with later.

Set away with ripping the centre consol apart to route the cable to the cup holder. did that. Refitted everything then started up the iPod again while I was putting the last bits away. Still fine. For whatever reason I started the car an the audio went funny :dapprove: it was hissing, breaking up (like on a phone call) and crackling

Uplugged it and plugged it back in. Still fucked.
Turned engine off. Worked fine.
Turned engine back on. Still fucked.

Any ideas? :(

No ideas on your problem mate but when making a phonecall (i presume it has bluetooth?) does it just stop the music and do the call as normal as ive been having problems with the standard headphone jack version.

no bluetooth mate its a 197 (not sure they even had that as an option)

the charging ive put down to

the lead is meant to charge apple devices but it doesnt.

the original loom has a wire in all 8 slots but this adapter only has them in 5... would these other wires charge the devices?

High pitched whine during engine on means a ground loop or a dry joint on the aux lead
The lead should be fully populated as the remaining wires are for things such as mute and speed pulse but wont affect charging
Checked fuse? Got a multimeter?
