iPod touch golf range finder?

Is it possible to use a range finder app on a touch by using one of these?

I already have a works phone, so a second one just isn't needed.

Just bare in mind using a phone as a GPS device isn't permitted in the rules of golf so if you're thinking of using one in competition I would advise against it.

I only play army golf............left right left right, so no chance of competition rule breaking- would it make a difference as its not a phone just a cheaper alternative to the £150+ dedicated range finders?

Fair play, no bother then! Have you seen the Bushnell Neo+ GPS? They are fairly basic but retail at £130 so not a bad option!
