Is it possible to transfer pictures from iPhone 5 to iPhone 6

Can anyone tell me if this is possible?

When searching online the guides are all relating to setting the new phone up for the first time but that isnt what we want to do.

My brother has an iphone 6 that has been up and running for months, he is going to give me his old iphone 5 but wants to get the pictures from it and onto his iphone 6 first. I cant find anything on how to do this. It appears the only way you can do it is when you turn the new phone on for the very first time and use icloud!?

I'm sure you can sync all of the photos to iTunes from your iPhone, then once there in your iTunes library sync them over to the iphone 6

Thats what i said above, you can only use icloud when setting the new phone up for the first time.
