Unfortunately i had a bump in my car and dented boot and also cracked the paintwork on the bumper. I took the car to a body shop where they have repaired the dent and resprayed the bumper and boot. Now i am no car expert but i cant help but think that the job they have done is unexceptionable as they haven't matched the original colour. I now the paint on the car has faded slightly and there is no surprise on a 7 year old car but i thought they would have been able to do a better job than what they have done. I have a few pictures of the dent and then a picture of the respray, but the picture of the respray is at night and i had to use flash i will get a better picture tomorrow.

  A special one.
You show us a picture of the boot and then post a picture of the side of the bumper and rear 1/4.

Am i missing something?????

The first picture is of the dent i caused when i bumped the car and the second picture the trying to show the colour mismatch of the bumper to the rear 1/4 (as stated they resprayed the boot and the bumper), sorry about the photo was the best i could get, as i said will get a proper photos tomorrow.

The bumper is new paint, without swirling and marring. The old paint is covered in scratches making it look different.

Where abouts in rotherham are you and where did you take it? If it's pearl black there's a couple of variations but if they had the car it should be right!

WOW! Dan, give that a go over with a rotary and it'll probably bring it up ok! Those swirls are drastically changing the look of the paint.

With out seeing it properly or even in daylight I can't say 100% BUT, there is a difference there and it will still be there when the rear quarter has been polished. It almost looks like the rear bumper is straight black and the rear quarter is obviously pearl black.

get a proper photo of it clean and in the daylight and go from there.

worst picture ever?

so you took a picture, at night, with a flash on the panel, of a dirty car with swirl marks all over it and youre moaning about fresh paint not looking the same as your neglected paint?

clean it then give it a polish and itll be fine. going by what you said there shouldnt be any paint around that side of the bumper anyway so itll just be laquer

Its not looking good ill be honest, but as stated above you need to wash the areas. I assume thats deep black, there are a few shades of that colour......and one has much more metalic than the other, which looks like your issue.

It's not the bumper that's out of colour, it's his car!

Well thank you for my warm welcoming everyone as you can probably see i'm a complete novice to this sort of so i thought i would come on a forum and ask for advise instead i get bombarded with mainly crap and people just jumping on the bandwagon. Yes fair enough the photo might be crap but as i said i am going to get a better photo in daylight. There is no need for the attitude some people have and the way they have typed it. Haven't you people got anything better to do than come home from work (that's even if you work) and sit behind a computer and type sh*te to new members asking for advise, wow your personal life's be sad. And now its time for everyone to have a little dig saying what do you expect blahh blahh blahh.

P.S Thankyou to the people who actually gave me some suggestions.

I would write an automatic 'unhelpful and possibly sarcastic reply' to any post that uses poor English and grammar.'

You just have to understand you are not asking for your grans opinion based on some unhelpful pictures. If you want a more experienced reply that is helpful then first help yourself and give these guys something to work with!...

It is impossible to get a perfect colour match between plastic and metal. With some metallics they need to paint flash cards to see which matches the existing paint best. An example would be Dolphin grey Audis as it's hard to match.

Clean and re photo. I'm with the others on that. Then people can see what the difference is truly like. Post a photo which you feel represents the different colours.
