Is this cable an earth?

Putting engine back in and got a wire that I think is an earth but just want to check it’s got black sheath if that helps

If it's black it'll be an earth with that type of plug.

As long as you have a lead to the starter motor, then it will probably be the main loom earth to the back of the gearbox.
It would be a shame to mix them up!
