Is this normal? Mk1 oil gauge and more.

My oil gauge only lights up and shoots to the top when the key is in position 2, when the car is on and running it vanishes and the needle drops to 0. Its a 1.4 rt ph3 96.

Other concerns are battery light comes on & off whilst driving, battery & alternator are 100% fit & functioning, and the airbag light is on.

yes thats normal for the oil level gauge, its only active for a short period

The oil level gauge can only measure the oil when the engine is off, as when the engine is running it wouldn't give an accurate reading due to the oil circulating the engine.

I would guess the battery light may be an earthing issue - check all your earths for corrosion
